Guinea’s Supreme Court has formally confirmed General Mamady Doumbouya as the winner of the December 28 presidential election, certifying that he secured 86.72 percent of the vote and will serve a seven-year term under the country’s new constitution.
The ruling was announced by Supreme Court president Fode Bangoura, after runner-up Abdoulaye Yero Balde, who placed a distant second with 6.59 percent, withdrew his legal challenge to the provisional results.
The election was held under constitutional changes approved in a September referendum that extended the presidential term and lifted restrictions preventing military leaders from contesting the presidency.
In a national address following the court’s decision, Doumbouya called for unity, saying Guinea had no winners or losers and urging citizens to work together for peace, justice, and shared prosperity.
The vote marked Guinea’s first presidential election since the 2021 military coup that brought Doumbouya to power, ending the rule of President Alpha Conde.
Lauriane Doumbouya, the First Lady of Guinea, is French-born and previously served as an officer in the French National Gendarmerie, a branch of France’s armed forces responsible for policing and security. She later moved to Africa, where she became involved in humanitarian and social initiatives before marrying Colonel Mamady Doumbouya, who became Guinea’s transitional president following the 2021 coup. Her background in French security services is documented, though claims describing her as a “spy” are not supported by official evidence.
So, nothing to see here then!!
Does she like salami?

Can anyone spell “banana republic”…..
I’m sure that sl*t can’t spell it while sucking
Guinea’s Simandou project is one of the world’s largest untapped high‑grade iron ore deposits, holding around 2.4 billion tonnes of ore at ~65% iron content
After decades of delays, the mine and its massive rail‑and‑port infrastructure are now moving toward full commercial exports, expected to begin in 2025
The new iron‑ore supply from Guinea’s Simandou project does give China more leverage over Australia, because it reduces China’s dependence on Australian iron ore, which has historically been its most critical import. This isn’t speculation; it’s exactly what multiple analyses are now saying
