Argentine President Javier Milei has scored a crucial political victory, with his party ‘La Libertad Avanza’ tripling its seats in Congress in Sunday’s midterm elections.

The libertarian leader’s movement captured nearly 41% of the national vote, outpacing the left-wing Peronist ‘Fuerza Patria’ bloc, which took 31.7%. The result gives Milei 101 seats in the lower house and 20 in the Senate—short of a majority but enough to ease the passage of his sweeping austerity reforms.

The election defied expectations of a poor showing. Milei has managed to bring triple-digit inflation under control, a feat that resonated with many voters.

The outcome also secures Milei’s standing with Washington. During a recent visit, US President Donald Trump reportedly linked future financial support—including a proposed $40 billion bailout package—to the election results. Following the victory, Trump praised Milei as a “great friend” and lauded his efforts to “restore Argentina’s greatness.”

  1. Incredible isn’t it. Milei’s economic policies are ruinous but his ideology is pro-U.S./Israel so he gets a 40 billion dollar bailout.
Maduro holds Venezuela together, building the middle class and educating the poor despite crippling sanctions and he gets attacked militarily.
    Puzzled?
    It is really very simple.
Any administration that toes the line with banksters and looters of State assets is encouraged, those that put people before profits get assassinated. Just ask Saddam Hussein, Muamer Ghaddafhi and Bashar Assad.
The message is simple. Mess with the system that is designed to transfer the wealth of a Nation into private profits and they will kill you.
