Three inmates at HMP Wakefield have been charged with the murder of convicted child killer Kyle Bevan, who was found dead in his cell on Wednesday.
Bevan, 33, was serving a life sentence for the 2020 murder of his partner’s two-year-old daughter, Lola James, in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.
Mark Fellows, 45, Lee Newell, 56, and David Taylor, 63, all prisoners at the high-security West Yorkshire jail, known colloquially as the ‘Monster Mansion’, appeared via video link before Leeds magistrates and were remanded in custody. The trio will appear next at Leeds Crown Court on 10 November.
Police were called to the prison around 8:25 a.m., and Bevan’s death was later confirmed by the Prison Service, which declined to comment further while investigations continue. Bevan, from Aberystwyth, inflicted “catastrophic” brain injuries on Lola during a “brutal” assault, leaving the toddler with more than 100 injuries. He had been ordered to serve at least 28 years in prison.
Bevan’s death follows the killing of former Lostprophets frontman and convicted paedophile Ian Watkins, who was fatally stabbed at the same prison last month. Two inmates have been charged in connection with that incident.
Even monsters have standards……..
They should send the government an invoice for services rendered.
It’s a damn shame that in the 21st century we have to rely on CRIMINALS to enforce justice because the “justice system” won’t.
Remanded in custody. Were they not already in custody?
