Trump declares new ‘Golden Age’ for America: Sweeping economic and policy reforms at Davos address

In his speech to the World Economic Forum at Davos, President Donald Trump heralded the start of what he termed the “golden age” for the United States following his recent inauguration.

Highlighting a historic election victory and swift action in his first days in office, Trump outlined his administration’s ambitious agenda, which includes reversing inflation, cutting taxes, deregulating industries, and terminating policies such as the Green New Deal and the Paris Climate Accord. He stressed the need for energy independence, advocating for the use of domestic oil and gas resources, and declared a national energy emergency.

Trump also announced plans for significant border security measures, including the deployment of military forces and a halt to illegal immigration. He vowed to restore merit-based systems, eliminate government censorship, and promote free speech. On the global stage, he discussed efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war, broker peace in the Middle East, and strengthen NATO commitments.

Economic optimism is soaring, Trump claimed, with major investments in AI and infrastructure underway from global firms.

Looking ahead, he expressed enthusiasm for upcoming landmark events, including the 250th anniversary of America, the World Cup, and the Olympics.

Concluding, he assured the audience that his administration is determined to restore America’s strength and prosperity, promising swift and transformative change.

On DEI policies: “My administration has taken action to abolish all discriminatory diversity, equity, and inclusion nonsense — and these are policies that were absolute nonsense — throughout the government and the private sector.”

Highlights

On gender and transgender Policies: “I’ve made it official — an official policy of the United States that there are only two genders, male and female, and we will have no men participating in women’s sports, and transgender operations, which became the rage, will occur very rarely.”

On the ‘Green New Deal’ and climate policies: “I terminated the ridiculous and incredibly wasteful Green New Deal — I call it the ‘Green New Scam’; withdrew from the one-sided Paris Climate Accord; and ended the insane and costly electric vehicle mandate. We’re going to let people buy the car they want to buy.”

On government censorship and free speech: “On day one, I signed an executive order to stop all government censorship. No longer will our government label the speech of our own citizens as misinformation or disinformation, which are the favorite words of censors and those who wish to stop the free exchange of ideas and, frankly, progress.”

On the Biden Administration’s policies: “Over the past four years, our government racked up $8 trillion in wasteful deficit spending and inflicted nation-wrecking energy restrictions, crippling regulations, and hidden taxes like never before.”

  1. EV’s are too consumer expensive in the long term and not any better than petrol cars:

When you take an old petrol car to be looked at and the mechanic says, “Sorry, we need to replace the head gasket. It will cost about $2,000 in parts and labor.”

When you take a 7- to 10-year-old EV and the mechanic says, “Sorry, we need to replace the battery. It will cost about $20,000.”

Also, if everybody owned them, then the whole grid would go down because there is just not enough power generation capacity. When they are charged, they are charged from a power station that uses coal, oil, gas or nuclear in order to generate the electricity. Also, the EV batteries require 200 tons of earth to be dug up in order to extract the metals to manufacture the battery. That’s one big hole in the ground!
