Trump sets Sunday deadline for Hamas to accept Gaza peace plan

Trump peace plan news

U.S. President Donald Trump has given Hamas a deadline of Sunday evening to accept a U.S.-brokered Gaza peace plan or face “all hell.”

The 20-point proposal, agreed with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calls for an immediate ceasefire, the release of 20 living hostages and the remains of others within 72 hours, and the transfer of Gaza’s governance to a temporary technocratic Palestinian committee overseen by an international “Board of Peace” led by Trump.

While Arab and Turkish mediators are pressing Hamas, its military leadership in Gaza appears set to reject the plan, despite some political figures in Qatar showing openness with modifications.

Trump and Netanyahu warned that rejection would see Israel continue its offensive with full U.S. backing. The plan has drawn support from European and Middle Eastern leaders, though divisions remain, as Israel’s assault intensifies in Gaza, where tens of thousands have been killed since October 2023, according to Palestinian health authorities.

  1. Why would anyone agree to this. Put your fate in the hands of your enemy. Trump and Benny know this wont fly but then, I suspect, that’s what they want.

  2. And then what Don ?, you go in in and destroy what is left of Gaza, maybe then you can build a new Trump Tower on the water front.
