Two teenagers have been charged in connection with a shooting at the Kansas City Super Bowl victory parade, which resulted in one fatality and 22 injuries.
The suspects, both minors, face charges related to firearms and resisting arrest.
Police authorities in the city say the incident was the resulted of an argument and was not ‘terrorism-related’.
A third individual detained has since been released, with further charges anticipated as the investigation progresses.
The identities of the juveniles have not been released due to privacy laws regarding juvenile court cases in Missouri.
The shooting took place near Union Station during celebrations for the Super Bowl champions, prompting Kansas City Police to seek additional information from the public.
The victims’ ages range from eight to 47, with many under 16.
The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a local DJ and community leader known for her contributions to Latino community events and charities. Her son, among others from her family, was also injured but has been released from the hospital. An online fundraiser for her family, supported by pop star Taylor Swift, raised over $230,000.
