World’s largest particle collider switched off for major upgrade

LHC switched off

The Large Hadron Collider based at CERN near Geneva has been powered down for a multi year upgrade.

Scientists are said to be preparing for the next phase of experiments exploring the deepest structures of reality. The machine is designed to smash particles together at extreme speeds, in an effort to better understand matter.

The LHC has attracted its fair share of online theories, including that it manipulates our reality causing what’s known as The Mandela Effect timeline changes. There are also rumours that its real purpose is to access other dimensions or parallel universes.

Critics are concerned that when it returns at the end of the decade even more powerful, it will intensify debate about how far these experiments should go. Read more at CERN, Live Science, Quantum Zeitgeist and Tree of Woe on Substack.
