Watch: Austrian MPs walk out during Zelensky speech

The Ukrainian president was addressing the Austrian parliament by Zoom call when the protest action was taken.

More embarassment for embattled Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky this week as members of Austria’s third largest political party, The Party of Freedom, got up and left while he was speaking to the country’s politicians.

Eariler viral video of a Ukrainian soldier abusing Zelensky and his government circulated on social media last week as Russian forces continue to advance along the front.

Austria has refused to supply Ukraine with arms but has made tacit messages of support of the country and the Zelensky regime. The country’s constitution entrenches Austrian neutrality and the messages contravene those provisions, opponents say.

Before leaving the chamber, the politicians left placards on their desks saying ‘A Place for Peace’ or ‘A Place for Neutrality’.
