Police can confirm a third person has died following the crash on State Highway 1, Titri on Monday 28 August.
Emergency services were called to the crash at around 12.15pm.
Two people died at the scene, Kreshar Dannielle Fruean, 37, and Andrew Sheehan, 53, both of Te Kuiti.
Police can now confirm a third person, John Banbury, 63, of Whakatāne, died in hospital last night.
‘Our thoughts are with their families at this difficult time,’ said police in a statement.
An investigation into the crash remains ongoing and Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses of the crash.
