Prominent Green Party MP Golriz Ghahraman who has stepped aside from her parliamentary roles following accusations of shoplifting at Scottie’s Boutique in Auckland.
The Green Party has acknowledged being aware of the allegations and confirmed Ghahraman’s decision to withdraw from her responsibilities until the matter is resolved. The police are handling the incident but have not confirmed any details of the investigation at this stage.
Ghahraman was ranked seventh on the Green party’s list in last year’s election. Her portfolios included justice, foreign affairs, defense, ethnic communities, and trade.
Ghahraman has yet to comment on the situation.
