A six-year-old girl has reportedly been rescued alive after spending three days trapped beneath mud and debris following catastrophic flooding in Nepal, with footage of the dramatic recovery circulating online.
The disaster began after a mass of ice and rock plunged into the upper Bhote Koshi River, triggering destructive flooding that swept through downstream communities, destroying homes, bridges, roads and energy infrastructure.
Authorities say at least 734 people have died, around 2,500 remain missing and more than 240 have been injured, while nearly 20,000 security personnel have joined a vast search-and-rescue operation.
More than 8,000 people have reportedly been rescued, including hundreds trapped in a hydropower tunnel and numerous foreign nationals.
Nepal has committed more than one billion rupees in emergency assistance and is delivering supplies to isolated communities by road and air. The disaster has also affected neighbouring Tibet, where Chinese authorities have reported 16 deaths and hundreds of people missing amid continuing concerns over unstable terrain and a newly formed barrier lake.

I think you wanted to make a valid point.
So just to clarify: The Himalaya is formed by events like this since millennia. Just because we witness does not make this “unprecedented”.
In fact, look out your window and chances are, that you are looking at a landscape that when it was formed would have killed you on the spot you inhabit now.
And that goes for most human settlements.
They make people tough up that way. So glad the little kid survived. Great effort on her part and the rescuers.
