Married at First Sight expert Mel Schilling has died aged 54 after a battle with cancer, having been diagnosed with colon cancer in December 2023 before it spread to her brain.
Her husband Gareth Brisbane announced her death, describing her final moments and paying tribute to her strength, saying she never complained through two years of chemotherapy and remained devoted to her family and work.
Schilling had revealed in March that her condition was terminal and that her oncology team could do no more, after experiencing worsening symptoms including severe headaches and numbness.
She stepped away from the show earlier this year after a decade, choosing to focus on her health and family, and is remembered by her husband as a devoted mother, partner and enduring source of courage and compassion.
