Sinead O’Connor’s cause of death revealed as respiratory illnesses

Famed Irish singer Sinead O’Connor, best known for her hit Nothing Compares 2 U died at age 56 from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma, as confirmed by her death certificate.

She also had a respiratory tract infection at the time of her passing.

Her death was announced on July 26, 2023, with her ex-husband John Reynolds issuing the certificate.

O’Connor, who gained global recognition in 1990, had also struggled with bipolar disorder and suffered personal tragedy with the death of her 17-year-old son in 2022.
