An Argentine lawmaker has been hospitalised after a violent confrontation during flood relief efforts in Tucumán, with video of the brutal headbutt rapidly spreading online.
Agustín Pelli was reportedly attempting to deliver aid to communities affected by severe flooding when he became caught in a confrontation at a blocked roadway. During the incident, local Peronist political figure Marcelo Segura — widely known by the nickname “Pichón” — struck Pelli with a forceful headbutt.
Footage circulating widely on social media shows the confrontation escalating in seconds before Segura appears to lunge forward, striking the congressman directly in the face. The impact reportedly broke Pelli’s nose, leaving him bleeding and requiring hospital treatment.
According to local reports, the clash happened as flood relief vehicles attempted to pass through an area where access had been obstructed. Pelli was part of an effort to bring emergency assistance to residents affected by recent flooding in the province, where heavy rains have caused widespread disruption.
