A massive ski complex in Krasnogorsk, on the outskirts of Moscow, collapsed on Monday during demolition, injuring three people and wrecking more than 140 parked cars.
CCTV footage showed part of the Snezhkom ski ramp structure giving way, sending a torrent of debris and mud across the construction site and nearby road, which had to be closed for cleanup.
One injured person remains hospitalised, according to local health authorities.
Regional officials have blamed the contractor for mishandling the dismantling process and confirmed a criminal investigation into potential violations of urban planning regulations.
The Snezhkom facility, built in 2007, had been slated for demolition after failing a 2022 safety inspection. The site has seen previous accidents, including a fatal incident last year and a crane collapse in 2023. Authorities have pledged to compensate vehicle owners affected by the collapse.
