A long-running dispute over the collapse of a carbon offset venture has ended with the High Court in Wellington finding bankers Will Leckie and Chris Morrison acted dishonestly and breached their legal duties as directors of the Drylandcarbon management companies.
Justice Paul Radich ruled the pair misused Drylandcarbon’s intellectual property to benefit a separate fund, Forest Partners, cutting co-founders Ant and Wendy Beverley out of the deal.
The court awarded the Beverleys at least $12.1 million and declared the removal of Ant Beverley as director unlawful, describing the bankers’ conduct as “oppressive, unfairly discriminatory and prejudicial.”
