Libelle Group (in liquidation) owes more than $14 million to 248 creditors, including schools, suppliers, and the IRD.
The company, which expanded from providing 17,000 lunches at $9 per meal to 125,000 at just $3, ran out of cash on March 6.
A liquidators’ report revealed significant financial distress, with critical suppliers threatening to pull support. Compass Group, which held the main contract, has acquired Libelle’s operations to ensure continuity, though questions remain about when stakeholders became aware of the financial troubles.
