An Air New Zealand flight from Auckland to Perth was diverted to Sydney after a fuel discrepancy prompted an engineering investigation.
Flight NZ175 departed Auckland around 12.30pm and was due in Perth just before 4pm, but safety concerns led to the diversion, according to chief safety and risk officer Nathan McGraw, who stressed that passenger safety is the airline’s top priority.
Air NZ said it is rebooking affected travellers on the next available service and apologised for the disruption.
