Cabinet has approved major reforms to New Zealand’s gun laws, transferring oversight of the Firearms Safety Authority from the Police Minister to the Firearms Minister in a move aimed at improving safety and simplifying compliance for licensed owners.
The restructured regulator will be led by a civilian chief executive reporting directly to the minister, with the Ministry of Justice providing oversight.
The overhaul includes tougher penalties, new offences such as possessing guns without serial numbers, and measures targeting gang members and 3D-printed weapons.
Endorsements for pest controllers are extended to five years, and collectors gain more flexible storage options.
Restrictions on military-style firearms remain unchanged, while Associate Justice Minister Nicole McKee accepted an “agree to disagree” position after failing to secure coalition backing for competitive shooters to access such weapons.

Conservation NZ won’t report on the drop, and neither will the Gun Clubs, but until NZ Loyal comes into Parliament, these stifling laws regarding Firearms ownership, freedom of speech and expression, human rights and medical freedom will continue under the Uni-Party of Nazional and Liebour.

Hope they enter into disussions wth other small parties to cut the egos and form a consolidated assembly to kick the autocrats out of the beehive.

You can bet that when the ban on MSSA’s was talked about, many of those and other firearms ended-up being dipped in cosmoline, placed in airtight containers with absorbant crystals / packets, and buried in places other than in the back yards.
It is estimated that for every ‘illegal’ firearm seized by the cops, five more are in buried storage, along with the ammunition.
Kiwis aren’t stupid by any means- and we realise when tyrannical totalitarianism in coming, just like the next Plandemic’, forced ‘Digital ID’, CBDCs, etc. and many of us have already planned our alternatives.
As long as the two major parties in NZ and their supportive minor party ilks consistently try to enforce the WEF, WHO, Project 2025 and Agenda 2030 down our throats, we find other vectors and paths in order to NOT COMPLY with the likes of Jabby, Judith, Chippy and Lex Luxon.
