‘Unelected globalist bureaucrats’: Peters welcomes U.S. decision to withdraw from WHO

Foreign Minister Winston Peters has slammed the World Health Organization (WHO) following the United States’ formal withdrawal from the globalist health body.

“The US has just officially withdrawn from the WHO,” Peters tweeted, arguing the move reflects deeper problems within the organisation. “This is what happens when a bunch of unelected globalist bureaucrats are not accountable or responsible with worldwide taxpayers’ money.”

Peters said the decision by Washington casts doubt over the WHO’s current standing and performance on the world stage.

“With the US withdrawing its membership it puts into question the current state of the WHO, its effectiveness, and if our taxpayers’ money is being responsibly spent overseas instead of here at home,” he said.

Winston Peters strongly supports New Zealand’s membership in the United Nations.
He has consistently reaffirmed New Zealand’s unwavering commitment to the UN, emphasizing its role as a cornerstone of global peace and multilateralism. In his speech at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 27, 2025, Peters stated that New Zealand’s support for the UN remains “unchanged”.

Peters also announced New Zealand’s intention to campaign for a seat on the UN Security Council for the 2039–40 term.

  1. I don’t recall the world electing Trump or netanyahu but Peters keeps kissing their ring sure enough.
    It’s all performance theatre. Globally.

  2. Bla bla Peters at it again, the same one whos been following the orders of these “unelected globalist bureaucrats” and not his supporters. Barry Young ring a bell Peters?

  3. Guess the value you give this decision, is proportional to the level of credibility you give the current administration as ‘leaders of a free world’

  4. Well, I can agree with Winston on this one. The WHO is corrupt and has too much influence, and gets too much co-operation from NZ.

Covering up for Wuhan Institute of Virology the origins of covid in two investigations. Flip flopping with mask use and support for detrimental measures.

If we’re worried about manage my health data breach, we should be petrified of the data from New Zealanders that gets shared with them and what they do with it/how safe it is

  5. Professional liar. Untrustworthy and treacherous. NO DIFFERENT from any
of the other fraudulent wasp-nest inhabitants. And the scammed clowns post
their praise for the cunning greaseball who knows how to slither support with
an eye-darting behind-the-scenes chuckle with his sneakily-contrived popular
( but truly turncoat fake-ass/phony )narratives..

  6. Winston has been a king pin in Nz political shenanigans for many years. Has NZ improved during his tenure? Did he not allow Arden to reap untold damage to our once great country?

    Winston is an opportunistic parasite.
