The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed back-to-back World Series titles for the first time in 25 years, defeating the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 in an 11-inning thriller at Rogers Centre.
Will Smith’s decisive home run broke the deadlock, sealing the Dodgers’ comeback after trailing 3-0 early to Bo Bichette’s blast. Solo homers by Max Muncy and Miguel Rojas tied the game in the ninth before Yoshinobu Yamamoto, also the winning pitcher in games two and six, secured victory and the series MVP title.
The win marks the Dodgers’ first consecutive championships since the Yankees’ three-peat from 1998 to 2000.
