Latham and Conway tons power Black Caps to commanding declaration

Centuries in both innings from openers Tom Latham and Devon Conway put the Black Caps firmly in control of the third Test at Mt Maunganui, with New Zealand declaring at 306 for two and setting West Indies an imposing victory target of 462.

After quickly dismissing the visitors early on day four while still holding a 155-run lead, New Zealand piled on the pressure with Conway, fresh from a double-century in the first innings, attacking early to reach his hundred off 136 balls before falling soon after.

Latham followed with a fluent century of his own from 127 deliveries, also departing shortly after reaching three figures, before Kane Williamson and Rachin Ravindra accelerated the scoring with an unbeaten late stand.

The declaration left the tourists facing a world-record chase with a day and an hour remaining, and while openers John Campbell and Brandon King made a solid start before stumps, West Indies still have a daunting task ahead.
