Liam Lawson delivered his strongest qualifying performance of the Formula 1 season, securing sixth on the grid for the Austrian Grand Prix and edging out former Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen.
Despite a shaky start in practice, Lawson’s pace improved through each qualifying round, culminating in a top-six finish that showcased his growth and comfort with the Racing Bulls car.
Lando Norris claimed pole with a dominant lap, ahead of Charles Leclerc and championship leader Oscar Piastri, while George Russell held onto fifth despite a pitlane breach.
