All Blacks prop Tyrel Lomax has extended his commitment to New Zealand Rugby, the Hurricanes and Tasman through the end of 2029, ensuring he remains available for both the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia and the 2029 British & Irish Lions tour.
The 48-test front-rower said family, unfinished goals and the chance to be part of major upcoming campaigns influenced his decision.
Lomax has become one of the world’s leading tighthead props since making his All Blacks debut in 2018, starting 12 of New Zealand’s 14 tests in 2024 before injuries disrupted his 2025 season.
All Blacks coach Dave Rennie praised Lomax’s long-term commitment, describing him as an elite player whose best rugby may still lie ahead. Hurricanes coach Clark Laidlaw and Tasman Mako coach Jono Phillips also welcomed the re-signing, highlighting his leadership, professionalism and importance to both teams.
