CEO of New Zealand Rugby Commercial Limited (NZRC) Craig Fenton will step down in January 2025 after just over a year in the role due to differences in vision for the organisation’s future.

Fenton, who joined NZRC in January 2024 after leading strategy and operations for Google’s UK and Ireland division, stated that while he believed in NZRC’s potential, his approach to driving change did not align with the organisation’s direction.

NZRC Chair Ian Narev confirmed the decision was mutual, and the company will announce plans for Fenton’s successor in the coming months.
