Australian travel influencer “Jetsetting Jacki” has warned Bali tourists to check their drinks after discovering cut plastic straws, which she claims are reused from previous customers.
Dining at a beachside restaurant on Nusa Lembongan, Jacki noticed the drinking ends of her straws were unevenly trimmed, suggesting they had been recycled to save costs.
In a TikTok video, she advised travellers to inspect their straws to avoid sharing with strangers, calling the practice “really disgusting.”
The warning echoes a similar alert from Irish traveller Aoife McElwee, who made the same discovery in Bali last year.
