French police have arrested five additional suspects, including a main perpetrator, in connection with the €88 million Louvre jewel heist, bringing the total number of arrests to seven.
Authorities say DNA evidence links at least one of the new detainees to the crime scene, though the stolen jewels remain missing.

The suspects are believed to be part of a four-man team that used a stolen mechanical lift and power tools to raid the museum’s Gallery of Apollo in broad daylight on 19 October, escaping within minutes.
Investigators suspect a larger criminal network was involved but have ruled out an inside job. Security across France’s museums has since been tightened, and the Louvre has moved its most valuable jewels to secure vaults at the Bank of France.
