A U.S. judge has rejected a justice department request to unseal grand jury materials from Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex-trafficking case, ruling that disclosure would reveal “next to nothing new” and could undermine the secrecy essential to the grand jury process.
Judge Paul Engelmayer said the records contain no names beyond Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein and do not identify any clients, stressing that releasing them could discourage witness cooperation and juror impartiality.
Maxwell, serving a 20-year sentence, opposed the release, while the request came amid political pressure following President Donald Trump’s pledge to make Epstein-related files public.

If there’s nothing important in the records, why are they sealed in the first place? 🤔
