UK Labour Minister sacked over offensive WhatsApp messages

Andrew Gwynne news

UK Health Minister Andrew Gwynne has been dismissed from his role and suspended from the Labour Party following the exposure of offensive messages he shared in a WhatsApp group named “Trigger Me Timbers.”

The messages, revealed by The Mail on Sunday, included Gwynne expressing a desire for a 72-year-old constituent to die before the next election, making antisemitic remarks about individuals with Jewish-sounding names, and mocking fellow Labour MPs Diane Abbott and Angela Rayner with racist and sexist comments.

In one instance, he suggested a constituent be “mown down by an Elsa Waste HGV” while cycling.

In a message to another constituent he said, “Dear resident, F*** your bins. I’m re-elected and without your vote. Screw you. PS: Hopefully you’ll have croaked it by the all-outs.”

A government spokesperson said PM Keir Starmer “will not hesitate to take action against any minister who fails to meet these standards.”

Gwynne has publicly apologised, expressing deep regret for his “badly misjudged comments”.

The Labour Party has initiated an investigation into the comments made within the WhatsApp group, with a spokesperson affirming that “swift action will be taken if individuals are found to have breached the high standards expected of them as Labour Party members.”

  1. The guy is 50 year ?! Did not grow up since primary school it seems
But the most unforgivable in Europe is the so called ” anti semitic” comments.
John Galliano was also immediately sacked from Dior after such “unforgivable ” comments on jewish clientèle.

  2. Yeah, firing people over speech is stupid. And a distraction.

Particularly when it’s being done by a government up to their eyeballs in WEF globalism, corruption and foreign NGO dark money. Who honestly cares if some low level nobody was an A-hole over whatsapp?

    Classic “look over here”.
