UK man fined £1,000 for putting rubbish out too early

West Kensington resident Clyde Strachan was fined £1,000 by Hammersmith and Fulham Council for placing bins on the pavement six hours early before going on holiday.

The Labour-run council accused him of fly-tipping, issuing an environmental enforcement notice with no right of appeal.

Critics, including the Shadow Justice Secretary and TaxPayers’ Alliance, called the fine excessive and unfair, arguing it punished an honest mistake.

After media inquiries, the council withdrew the fine, acknowledging Strachan was not a persistent offender. The incident highlights growing concerns about overzealous council enforcement and disproportionate penalties for minor rule breaches.

  1. Is there a mis-print somewhere?
Shouldn’t this read ‘Man fined for proposing to voting-out and dissolving British MP’s early’???
Can we see the link here with how everything relates to trash, with drug paraphenalia mixed-in, including Starmer’s coke envelope and Mertz’s snorting spoon?
