Ukrainians lose faith in NATO and U.S. as trust plunges – poll

Public trust in NATO among Ukrainians has dropped significantly over the past year, according to a new survey that also points to a steep decline in confidence in the United States.

The poll, conducted by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) between November 26 and December 13, surveyed nearly 550 Ukrainians across different age and social groups. The results show that only 34 percent of respondents now say they trust NATO, down from 43 percent recorded in December last year.

Confidence in the bloc’s leading power, the United States, has fallen even more sharply. Just 21 percent of those surveyed expressed trust in Washington, compared with 41 percent a year earlier.

The decline comes as the US administration pursues diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, while ruling out both NATO membership for Ukraine and the deployment of American troops on Ukrainian territory.

Ukraine formally applied to join NATO in 2022, making alliance membership a central theme of pro-Western political messaging. Russia has consistently opposed NATO’s eastward expansion, describing it as a core cause of the conflict and insisting Ukraine should adopt neutral status.

Trust in the European Union remained broadly stable at around 49 percent, with relatively low levels of scepticism toward Brussels. The poll also found strong public resolve to continue the war effort, with 62 percent saying Ukraine should endure the conflict as long as necessary.

Confidence in President Vladimir Zelensky stood at about 61 percent. Despite his term formally expiring last year, most respondents said elections should wait until the conflict ends, with only 9 percent calling for an immediate vote.

The Russian military is mobilised. It inew generation is battle hardened.. Their hardware and troops are on the ground. Its industrial complex has switch to a wartime economy.

On top of this, The people of Europe are fighting their own Leaders. Burning cities in France, Extreme protests throughout Europe and the UK. The citizens will not tolerate war.

If these dumbasses want to take on The Russians, its allies, which include China and its unequal manufacturing speed of advanced weapons including nuclear, then go for it.

Let’s not forget that the United States of America, happy to make a profit and sell wepons, doesn’t want to be involved.
