Former All Blacks head coach Scott Robertson will return to rugby this June after being appointed to lead the Barbarians in matches against world champions South Africa in Port Elizabeth on 20 June and Wales at Twickenham on 27 June.
Robertson, whose tenure with New Zealand ended in January, has previously coached the invitational side four times and will work alongside Argentina head coach Felipe Contepomi.
A non-compete clause in his New Zealand Rugby severance agreement prevents him from coaching a top-tier Test rival until early 2027, although reports indicate he could take an international role sooner if prospective teams complete their 2026 fixtures against the All Blacks.
