A former prominent New Zealand sports figure has been charged with unlawfully posting explicit images of a woman online without her consent.
Court documents reveal the man is facing four charges for distributing intimate visual recordings, with two of the charges being representative. These incidents allegedly occurred between May 25 and June 8.
Two of the charges allege the man acted recklessly regarding the woman’s consent, while the other two assert that he posted the images knowing she had not given consent.
The charges fall under the Harmful Digital Communications Act, carrying penalties of up to two years in prison or fines up to $50,000.
