Father accuses Atlanta mall of discrimination after son with cerebral palsy told to leave

A father has accused the management of Cumberland Mall in Atlanta of discrimination after his son, who uses a wheelchair and has cerebral palsy, was allegedly told he could not remain in the mall.

The emotional father, who is also the CEO of sanitary product company Reign Pads, shared his frustration in a widely circulated video, stating that the mall’s general manager told him and his family that his son could not be present over the weekend.

“You had the general manager of the mall tell us that my son cannot be in the mall with us this weekend. He’s a part of our company. He’s my son and my family. I find that to be very discriminatory,” the father said.

According to the statement, the son had been assisting as an employee at their vendor stall inside the mall. Following the incident, the father announced that his company would be pulling out of the mall entirely. “If my son cannot stay, then we cannot stay. We leaving the mall,” he declared. Cumberland Mall has not yet issued a public response to the allegation.
