34-year-old New Zealand woman Destiny Otton-Rakuraku is in a serious condition in a Queensland hospital after allegedly being set on fire in her Kingston home, south of Brisbane.
The alleged attacker, 36-year-old Renata Menning, reportedly doused her with petrol before igniting her during an altercation.
Neighbours rushed to her aid after witnessing the horrifying scene.
Otton-Rakuraku’s family, describing her as strong and selfless, have started a GoFundMe campaign to support her recovery, raising over AUD $25,000 so far.
Menning faces charges of attempted murder and common assault, with a court appearance scheduled for Monday.
