Watch: Mum exposes ‘radical sex education materials’ in daughter’s school

Family First NZ Founder Bob McCoskrie interviewed the mum of an 11-year-old girl who received graphic material from her teacher.

One of the big story’s of the week which broke yesterday was that of a mum and her experience with her local school’s sex education material.

DTNZ is aware of many parents who have expressed shock and disbelief that their children are also receiving material of this nature from their school, up and down the country.

The handout included a section entitled ‘How is sex done?’:

It went on to state that ‘there are five different legal classifications of sex’ – genital, digital, object, oral and anal. Each category was accompanied by a graphic description of what they entailed.

The mum explained how she took a photo of the handout and posted it to social media. Many were so shocked at its content that they could not believe it to be true. The photo is included in McCoskrie’s video below, from his McBlog YouTube channel.

The mum described how her daughter reacted to the material, saying to her ‘mummy I’m really disturbed by it, especially the objects part.’

The material was given to students in a health class for intermediate-aged children, the mum said – for years 7 and 8, or 11 and 12 year-olds.

When asked by McCoskrie if she had had any warning that this kind of material was going to be covered, she said ‘no’.

‘There was an email sent out in February about sexuality education, but it was very broad, very vague. There was no mention of the fact that they were going to go over this sort of graphic material. I pulled my daughter out of this class as soon as I found out they were doing it. The fact she came home with this material…has made me even more angry, because she should never have seen it in the first place.’

She had advice for parents of school age children – check what they’re learning, and remember there’s a difference between ‘sex’ education and ‘sexuality’ education.
