Workers at legacy media outlet Stuff walk off the job over pay dispute

Stuff walk-out news

Journalists and staff at legacy media outlet Stuff walked off the job on Thursday afternoon, striking in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, and Christchurch over what they describe as years of low pay, undervaluation, and attempts to divide the workforce.

E Tu Union delegates accused the company of offering insulting wage rises that fail to keep pace with inflation, after years of pay freezes during Covid and minimal increases since.

They also criticised plans to split staff into separate collective agreements, which they believe would weaken bargaining power.

Stuff rejected the claims, saying staff have received annual pay rises in line with the market and denying allegations of secrecy or bad faith.

The strike follows a similar action in 2022 amid ongoing disputes over fair pay and working conditions.

  1. There is much to dispute. They have been paid far too much to produce biased irrelevant propaganda masquerading as journalism.

  2. Who really gives a Stuff
Accomplices in the planned destruction of NZ and its way of life
By disseminating fake news and propaganda and in attacking patriots
