Blues stun Chiefs in last-minute upset to keep title hopes alive

The Blues pulled off a stunning 19-20 comeback win over the top-seeded Chiefs in Hamilton, overcoming a 13-point second-half deficit to snatch victory with a try in the 84th minute by replacement lock Josh Beehre.

Despite dominating the first half, the Chiefs failed to convert pressure into points and now face a semifinal as the highest-ranked losing quarterfinalist.

The gritty win revives the Blues’ faltering title defence and sets up a semifinal clash against the Crusaders in Christchurch.
