Hurricanes storm into first Super Rugby final since 2016

The Hurricanes booked their place in the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific Grand Final with a dominant 57-21 victory over the Blues, overcoming a closely fought first half before unleashing a relentless attacking display after the break.

Holding a narrow 19-14 lead at halftime, the competition leaders ran in a series of tries during a devastating second-half surge that left the defending finalists with no answer. Cam Roigard, Josh Moorby, Jordie Barrett, Xavier Numia, Du’Plessis Kirifi, Asafo Aumua, Ere Enari and Kini Naholo all crossed as the Hurricanes became the first side to score 100 tries in a Super Rugby season.

The result sends the Wellington-based side into their first final since winning their only title in 2016, where they will face the Chiefs in the championship decider.
