Alice Robinson has added another strong result to her season after finishing third in the giant slalom at Åre, Sweden, producing two composed runs to secure a place on the podium.
The Kiwi clocked 1:12.46 in her opening run and followed it with 1:10.70 in the second, ending the race 0.75 seconds behind Austria’s Julia Scheib, who claimed her first World Cup victory.
Scheib also wrapped up the giant slalom crystal globe after Switzerland’s Camille Rast failed to complete her second run, allowing the Austrian to build an uncatchable 189-point advantage in the standings.
After sitting behind Rast following the opening run, Scheib produced a decisive second descent to win by 0.36 seconds, becoming the first Austrian woman since Eva-Maria Brem in 2016 to capture a World Cup giant slalom title. Paula Moltzan finished second, while Robinson now sits sixth overall in the giant slalom standings with 372 points.
