Thirteen Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel were injured when two military vehicles, carrying 36 people, crashed near Lismore while responding to the aftermath of ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Tregeagle Road, with injured personnel taken to multiple hospitals.
The crash occurred as northern NSW faced flooding, evacuations, and power outages, with officials warning of continued danger despite the cyclone weakening. Efforts for disaster relief and flood mitigation remain ongoing.
