French judge who issued Netanyahu warrant debanked

A French judge has alleged he has been effectively cut off from the financial system after issuing an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the International Criminal Court.

Nicolas Gouyou said major payment providers Visa and Mastercard had blocked his cards, leaving him unable to carry out everyday transactions. He described the situation as deeply concerning, stating that despite his position as a judge, he was being treated “like a criminal.”

Gouyou also claimed the measures were part of a broader pattern of pressure, alleging that members of the legal and political community were facing intimidation. According to him, a colleague indicated his name would remain on a blacklist until the end of US President Donald Trump’s term.

He further stated that efforts by the French president to intervene had so far failed to produce any response from US authorities, raising questions about the extent of international pressure surrounding the case.
