Hashem Abedi, jailed for his role in the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder after four prison officers were injured in an alleged attack at HMP Frankland in April.
The 28-year-old also faces charges of assault causing actual bodily harm and possessing a weapon, reportedly involving makeshift knives and cooking oil.
Three officers were hospitalised with serious injuries, prompting a full independent review and strong political condemnation.
Abedi, serving a minimum 55-year sentence, remains in custody and will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on September 18.
About 80 when he leaves prison, costing £100,000/yr, he’ll probably be eligible for some sort of ‘rehabilitation benefit’ (if GB is still a civilised country by then, or has any money left).

Accidents also happen in prison.
