The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo a public health emergency of international concern after cases spread into neighbouring Uganda and reached major urban centres.
Around 246 alleged suspected infections and 80 deaths have been reported in Ituri province, with confirmed cases also detected in Kinshasa and the rebel-held city of Goma.
Health bureaucrats warn the outbreak may be far larger than current figures suggest due to population movement, conflict, informal healthcare systems and mining activity in affected regions.
The virus involved is said to be the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola, which currently has no approved vaccine or treatment. Symptoms begin with fever and fatigue before progressing to vomiting, diarrhoea and bleeding.
WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said major uncertainties remain over the true scale of infections as authorities race to contain further regional spread.

On Oct. 31, 2023, the then-head of Russia’s troops trained for radiological, chemical and biological defence, the late (assassinated) Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, claimed that the U.S moved part of its “unfinished” biological weapons projects from Ukraine to Africa and “the work is underway in Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Uganda.”
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus experienced an erection with news that the lab experiment was successful. A new bio weapon is already in place as a vaccination to wreak havoc and death on all who are forced to take it.
