Gisborne rainbow pedestrian crossing painted over in Destiny Church protest

Protesters have painted over a rainbow crossing on Gisborne’s main street.

A group of people identifying themselves as Destiny Church members blocked off Gladstone Road and painted a layer of white over the crossing on Monday evening.

Posts on social media link the actions to opposition to a drag show at the Gisborne Library at 1pm today.

Brian Tamaki posted his support of their actions on social media.

Destiny Church, police and Gisborne District Council have been contacted for comment, according to a report in State media RNZ.

  1. it’s a political / globalist Symbol of course it needs to go…..any politician or govt. department or govt employee that support the alphabet mafia needs to go.

  2. Well done Gisborne, I can’t imagine that anyone had an issue with queers but as they want to constantly slap you in your face with their mental illness I’m afraid the push back will only grow.

  3. The media will no doubt threaten, blackmail and terrify the cowardly city council into renouncing “hate”, and by this time next week there’ll be TEN rainbow crossings.

My advice to the Destiny guys; buy more paint! Repeat as necessary until they give up out of sheer exhaustion.

  4. We’ll done Destiny, at least one church is standing up against this tide of evil deception, yip yip, buy more paint, you’ll probably need it 😎
