National slips below 30% as NZ First surges – poll

National has fallen below 30 percent support in the latest Taxpayers’ Union-Curia poll, dropping 3.5 points to 29.6 percent, while NZ First has climbed to 10.6 percent.

Labour remains the most popular party at 31.2 percent despite losing 2.6 points, and the Greens have risen to 12 percent. The results would give the centre-left bloc a slim majority of 61 seats against 59 for the centre-right.

Labour leader Chris Hipkins has overtaken Christopher Luxon as preferred prime minister, with 20.9 percent to Luxon’s 19.8. The poll highlights voter discontent over the economy and cost of living, with major parties together losing more than six points in support.

Among the minor parties, Freedoms NZ is on 2.3 percent (up 1.5 percentage points), TOP is on 1.6 percent (up 0.5), NZ Loyal on 1.0 percent (up 1.0 point), and Vision NZ is on 0.6 percent (up 0.6).

    • The promoted way beyond her ability, Nicola Willis is single handedly, bringing the Luxon government to its knees.

Kiwis know Willis’ so called supermarket, electricity, insurance, and banking reforms are mere subterfuge and won’t make a difference to their prices.

Come on Mr Luxon, promote Chris Bishop to finance minister, give him oligarch busting kpis, then romp in at the election.

    • Quite the opposite, people are FINALLY waking up to the fact the mainstream parties, especially the big ones are letting them down. I hope both are displaced over time, the signs are there. Now we just need a UK Reform or German AFD style party to step in and make NZ the great country it could and should be.

    • Look at the die hard Tories moaning because their version of the globalists is losing and you can see why this nation, is such a mess. They think so called strong leadership will magically fix bad policy and of course, it wont but well, “its National don’t ya know,” so off we trot to vote for more of the same…..

  1. The “fact” that Labour is leading in the poll indicates New Zealand is f*cked in the head with no chance of redemption.

    • I wholeheartedly agree.
They should convene a nationwide assembly.
Keep fractions aside for now, unite under one umbrella to serve the Nation of New Zealand.

      • I suggested this before the last (s)election, but the egos of those running the minor parties get in the way
IF these minor parties really cared about the country and not about themselves via egotistical narcissism and were astute to the Uni Party of Liebour-Nazional / Nazional Liebour, they would all umbrella under the New Zealand Loyal Party and merge with the same, which has a full grasp on the problems and also offers credible provable solutions.
The time has come to make this political change, otherwise we will all be A.I. subjects with Digital I.D.’s employing soul-destroying ‘Social Credit’ whilst living in areas that have been converted into ‘Smart City’ open electronic 5G / 6G prisons

  2. Does not matter who you vote for in this country all you get is a scumbag globalist puppet. This leads many to the belief that we have not had free and real elections in this country for decades.

  3. Shows you how dumb people are that they haven’t realised the party time covid era spraying money around is what got us into this unholy mess. That and that USELESS Adrain Orr a DEI hire (hes a Pacific Islander apparently- explains the Tane Mahuta crap) can you believe Adrain Orr got a degree in sociology? I bet he got in there on lesser marks too……

This current govt is not helped by the piss poor weak Luxon. His pathetic vocal fry voice and I mean look at the state of him. Fat. Give it to Todd McClay or that hunk from Timaru…..🤣

It’s time to get rid of the Maori seats once and for all. With MMP the Royal commission advised Maori seats would no longer be required because of PROPORTIONAL representation. We need a referendum on this. Left governments are GIFTED the Maori seats every single time. No doubt the white boomer women would f*ck that up for us too.

If labour gets in this country is well and truly ruined forever. A shithole communist nightmare. Basically the whole country will resemble Wellington. They are a bunch of lying evil communist arseholes.ot beggars belief shitkins has so much support. Horrible little man thing.

  4. Burnt offerings whichever way you jump. If you still think voting mainstream, makes any sense at all, that is. I’m not going to vote for any of them and I know the new party I vote for, probably wont get in but I’d rather invest a better long term future then endlessly repeat the past…….
