South Africa level series with Black Caps

South Africa squared the T20I series with a decisive win over New Zealand, successfully defending a modest total of 164 thanks to a disciplined and effective bowling performance.

Connor Esterhuizen led the batting effort with 57, sharing a key partnership with Tony de Zorzi to set up the innings, before New Zealand—fielding an under-strength side—collapsed under pressure.

Spinners Prenelan Subrayen and Keshav Maharaj played a pivotal role in the middle overs, triggering a slide from 76 for 3 to 112 for 7, while Gerald Coetzee added three wickets to seal the result as New Zealand were bowled out inside 19 overs.

The victory levels the five-match series and sets up a final decider, with South Africa showing improved form despite missing several first-choice players.
