Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a defiant address at the UN General Assembly, condemning Western nations such as France, Britain, Australia, Canada, and others for recognizing Palestinian statehood, which he claimed sent the message that “murdering Jews pays off.”
Amid walkouts from delegates and large pro-Palestinian protests in New York, Netanyahu vowed Israel would never accept a Palestinian state, calling it “national suicide.”
He defended Israel’s war in Gaza, rejecting genocide accusations despite more than 65,000 Palestinian deaths reported by local officials. Netanyahu pledged to dismantle Hamas completely, promised hostages’ families Israel would not rest until their release, and accused world leaders of buckling under pressure from biased media and antisemitic mobs.
His speech came as international recognition of Palestine grows, the ICC pursues war crimes charges against him, and US President Donald Trump prepares to meet him in Washington to push for a possible war-ending deal.
