Oscar-nominated British actor Terence Stamp has died at the age of 87, his family confirmed on Sunday, without disclosing the cause.
Known internationally for his role as General Zod in the Superman films, Stamp’s career spanned six decades and included acclaimed performances in Billy Budd, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Valkyrie, and The Adjustment Bureau.
Rising from working-class roots in East London, he became a prominent figure in the 1960s arts scene, collaborated with renowned directors in Europe, and later embraced spirituality in India before returning to stardom.
