A landslide in Lyttelton on Thursday night has left two homes under threat and several residents temporarily evacuated.
Fire and Emergency (FENZ) responded to the incident around 9:05pm and found one property had sustained damage.
Two homes were identified as at risk and remained evacuated as of Friday morning.
All residents have been accounted for, and a geotechnical engineer is set to assess the stability of the affected properties.

LIMs oftentimes do not have geophysical risks- best to consult a geo-technical engineer of what may be around you, especially if a hillside is above your home, or if your home sits atop a cliff or elevated area that could also slide.
Don’t just get an RPIE or take a realtor’s word that the property that you are purchasing is OK when the above features might factor in..
